Reference : secondary dominant

A secondary dominant is an altered chord that has a dominant relationship to a major or minor chord other than the tonic in the same key. The analysis of these chords is written as V / X or V7 / X, where X is the degree related to the dominant. See Secondary Dominants for more information.
