The teoria.com website is dedicated to the study and practice of music theory and the development of aural skills. We have been part of the Internet community since January 1997. José Rodríguez Alvira developed teoria.com to complement his courses at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.

In 2006, teoria.com received the MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) Classic Award in Music and was peer reviewed by the organization. The following articles and sections have also been peer reviewed by MERLOT:

Our exercises and tutorials are included in the first and second editions of From Sound To Symbols by Michael Houlahan and Philip Tacka, published by Oxford University Press, and in the book Stradivari by Salvatore Accardo, Luigi Fiorentini, Gabriele Giacomelli, and Paola Lenzi, published in Italy by Bompiani. Conservatories, universities and music schools in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa use our website.

teoria.com is a work in progress. If you like this project, you can help in several ways:

  1. Donate using PayPal.
  2. Send corrections. All corrections are welcome. Especially English corrections, since our primary language is Spanish.
  3. Link to our pages from other sites.
