Like section B, section C is highly chromatic.

The material from measures 43 to 46 in E major is repeated in measures 47 to 51 one tone higher in F# major:

• Measures 52 and 53 repeat measure 51, but each time the latter is played half-step lower.
• Measure 54 sees the D major chord lead to an E-flat major augmented sixth chord.

E-flat is used as A-flat's dominant. The final measures use A-flat major tonic and dominant chords:
