Other aspects of the form's evolution

• Beethoven uses the E major key for the second section instead of the traditional dominant key.
• In the recapitulation, the second section starts in A major, before finally going the expected C major key.
• An extended coda becomes a second development.
• Many modulations - including distantly related keys - starting at the first measures.
