We are updating all exercises to include an option for setting the maximum number of exercises so that the exercise stops after the number is reached. We also added a button that you need to click in order to continue with the exercise when you ask for the answer. The exercises that has been revised are:

New melodies and levels using sixteenth notes in the Two Voice Dictation exercise.

Analysis of Debussy's Prelude Des pas sur la neige.

A new level that includes melodies using the raised IV and lowered VII degrees in the Melodic Dictation exercise. All melodies (including the melodies of the Two Voice Dictation) has been recreated using Garritan Personal Orchestra instruments.

The Chord Constructor now shows the notes on a keyboard.

Dominant seventh chords with sharp and flat fifths and the major seventh chord with augmented fifth have been added to the Extended Chord Dictation exercise.

You can now play notes in group of up to 10 notes and select the speed and duration of the notes in the Notes Ear Training.

New Transposing Instruments reading and writing exercises.

Two new levels and 40 new melodies added to the Melodic Dictation exercise.

New Two Voices Dictation exercise. A total of 129 melodies organized into 12 levels.

New options in the Melodic Dictation exercise:

• We have reorganized the levels for more flexibility in the selection process.
• A wizard can help you select the desired levels using modality and harmonic and rhythmic difficulty criteria.
• You can now combine the treble, alto and bass clefs.
• We have improved the sound quality.

Fixed some errors in the Harmonic Progressions ear training exercise.

Bugs fixed in the Notes Ear Training exercise and the Scale Constructor.

New options in the rhythm exercises (see 14-XI-2008 for more infomation)

New options in the interval and clef reading exercises. These changes include:

1. Use any of the seven clefs.
2. Optionally set the maximum time allowed for answering an exercise.
3. Most exercises can be answered using the computer keyboard.
4. The score is calculated using the following formula: (correct exercises / total number of exercises) - (errors / 2).
   An exercises is considered correct if you give the correct answer even after several errors. For each two errors, one point is deducted from the score.

• Phrases, periods and motives

• You can now select not to use accidentals in the Clef Reading Exercise

• Section Notes has been created under Exercises. The updated Clef Reading and Notes Ear Training exercises are now under this new section.
• New option in the Clef Reading exercise:
  • It plays the notes.
  • You can now answer using a keyboard.
  • It can display up to 9 musical notes at the same time.
• The Notes Ear Training exercise will now use flat notes if a scale with flat notes is selected. Also, it will start and end with the tonic of the selected scale.
• New better quality sounds have been uploaded.
• Some reported bugs has been fixed in the Interval Ear Training exercise.
