In the next example an appoggiatura (E) is used between the first two chords (I - V) in the first beat of measure 2. Note that note B from the V chord in measure 2 is played by the right hand. The chord in the first beat of measure 2 can also be analyzed as a II degree 7th chord in 2nd inversion:
